Long Intonations and Kalophonia: Traces of stylistic development in Late Byzantine Echemata

Artiklen viser, at quasi-improviserede intonationsmelodier (echemata) i perioden fra ca. 1200 til ca. 1400 gennemgår en forholdsvis stor udvikling, idet de forlader de traditionelle eller klassiske genres musikalske formelsprog, særligt som det kendes fra Psaltikon og Asmatikon, og bliver mere og mere påvirket af den friere, såkaldt 'kalofoniske' stil.
