N2 - This report on the progress of the Life at the Furnace. Copper producing Ecosystems in the north-western Troodos project discusses the suite of state-of-the-art methodologies in the form of archaeological artefact-based surface survey, geophysical surveys, and remote sensing of the anthropogenic remains underpinned with a geoarchaeological study of the sedimentary record and vegetation. It presents some preliminary results of the 2020 pilot season and 2023 fieldwork centred on the Peristerona Valley and the Roman period slag heap within it as well as some fieldwork from the contemporary slag heap in the Lagoudhera Valley.
