I am interested in how the brain controls voluntary movement and how brain plasticity can optimally support skill learning. Methodologically I work with non-invasive brain stimulation, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Electroencephalography (EEG), and a wide range of behavioral paradigms testing manual control and motor learning.

Current research

I study cortical networks important for good hand-hand and hand-eye coordination, how these networks change as we age and if physical activity or non-invasive brain stimulation can protect “youth-like” cortical connectivity patterns in the aging brain.
